Please enjoy "The Works of Katherine Caughey".
Katherine Caughey has been involved in Wildlife and Western Work for over ten
years. Her Commission Work is her pride and joy "to be able to see what you see, and
to put it in to a visual concepts an art form I am truly proud of". She has taken on
Illustrating for Authors of major magazines as well as Historical Research Illustration
for books.
Mrs. Caughey has won many honors, her Paper Sculptures (now available through commission
only) are tops in her field. Other Sculptures are available in Terracotta and Bronze.
Paintings are Acrylic.
Katherine is well known for discovering a medium and taking it to the limit in technique.
Her paintings have a spiritual quality about them. She says she sees' the painting in her
thoughts, then puts it to canvas. Her sculptures "form themselves", she is but
their tool.
Mrs. Caughey is an impressionist. In the world of western and wildlife this is unique. Her
whole goal in her art is to convey emotion. Sounds easy, but what color is love? How do
you tell people that animals are important, and carry a message. The answer is emotion!
Impressionism is an old style, a very unique way of saying what you feel, the use of
colors, light, and the often clean backgrounds helps direct you to feel what she feels.
Katherine lives by one rule, treat others like you want to be treated. You can often find
Mrs. Caughey working in her studio.
If you are in Seattle stop by.
